As one of the important components, the clutch cover can not only effectively transmit some of the engine's torque to the pressure plate, but also support the housing of the clutch compression spring and separation rod. Usually, the clutch cover is fixed with flywheel bolts.

In order to meet the usage requirements, the clutch cover plate must meet the following requirements during structural design: firstly, it must have sufficient structural stiffness to avoid affecting overall performance. In addition, the control separation stroke has been increased, reducing the lift of the pressure plate, and in severe cases, preventing the friction surface from completely separating.

At the same time, in order to ensure overall balance and coupling stability, it is necessary to maintain good neutrality between the cover plate and the flywheel during structural design. In addition, the cover plate diaphragm spring support should have high dimensional accuracy. Ventilation and cooling issues should also be considered to avoid excessive surface temperature caused by friction. Usually, a larger ventilation window is required on the clutch cover, so the clutch should be designed in a special shape or equipped with ventilation plates or other facilities for blowing air on the cover to increase cooling and prevent excessive temperature.

So, how to determine its size and choose the material? Generally, the specific dimensions and materials are determined based on the clutch design requirements. It is generally required that the inner diameter of the clutch cover be greater than the outer diameter of its friction plate, so that other components can be included in it. In terms of material selection, low carbon steel forging with a thickness of 2.5 millimeters to 5 millimeters is generally used. Remember to pay special attention to the stiffness of the clutch cover, cooling and ventilation in the middle during design.
